I’m currently Director Development Operations (DevOps) at CrowdFlower, the enterprise crowdsourcing platform, in San Francisco, California

I've been involved in software development and IT since 1983 when I had my first job writing food service management software in BASIC for Houk & Soles in Pentwater, Michigan. Later as a student at the University of Michigan, I was part of the Computer Aided Engineering Network support team. After college, I spent a few years as a mechanical engineer at NASA, Ford, and several simulation software companies. In 1996 I co-founded InGenius, a small web start-up building web content monitoring services in the days before RSS. Since then I’ve lent a hand in IT, software development, product management and project management for NetGravity, Personify, Jigsaw, and Change.org.

I have an M.S.E. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan and an M.S. in Engineering-Economic Systems from Stanford University.
